!A bit a Mile end a bit a Stoke Newington!

How grim was football saturday? After the game I watched X-Factor and thought that John and Edward were by far the best. Then nailed a few beers down in my no.1 boozer The Victoria, Mile End. Then on to a party on Stoke Newington High st.

The Vic.

Stokey.

!LIVE FOR TREME, DIE FOR TREME!

I was in New Orleans not long ago. An Incredible place, music booming from every open door. My girl and i were lucky enough to scratch beneath the surface of the place, step away from bourban street choking with drunk fuck white america and stumbled into an area called the Treme District. A place steeped in black political and musical history, it was the main neighborhood of the free people of colour before the civil war and also the birthplace of musicians Alphonse Picou and Kermit Ruffins. The neighborhood also bears a darkside to it, rumoured to be one of americas most dangerous hoods. We went there one night against all recommendations from our indian cab driver to a place called the candle light lounge. After some early apprehensions our ignorance paid off. We met John, an amazing guy from Northhampton whos been going out there for the past thirty years. John introduced us to 12 the unofficial mayor of the place and we were made. I was Slim, she was Shorty. We met Busta, Bugs, Ijamin, and all the characters. Shorty laid down a track, Slim took photos and i can't wait to go back. Check it.
